Package Bank Accounts
the facts

Package bank accounts or PBAS have been used by banks as a way of generating revenue from personal clients of the main banks for about 30 years. The last 10-15 years the banks have seen their importance as an income stream, where they have focused on their makeup so they are more attractive and sellable.

PBAS can offer a number of benefits for a client ranging from travel insurance, breakdown cover through to cheaper tickets to events and even reduced borrowing rates.

However as we so often see the banks have become greedy where many bank clients sign up to the account believing they have no choice.

How to know if you can claim?

If you have a package bank account and the explanation, options and limitations of the account were not explained properly there is a good chance of being refunded due to a missale taking place.

Any refund would include the fees paid, interest and statutory interest.

What is good about the package bank accounts?

Packaged accounts can be very useful, where clients have gone into the sales process with eyes open and fully understanding the benefits, limitations and costs for their own individual circumstances.

The bank must provide a full and detailed explanation of the account, reflecting on the client's position, when the package account is taken out.

What is bad about the package bank accounts?

Banks have become greedy where many bank clients sign up to the account believing they have no choice. Or in the mistaken belief that the benefits will suit them without having exclusions detailed or establishing if the account benefits are already enjoyed by the client elsewhere.

The accounts themselves have lovely appealing names making a client feel nice and important and aiding the bank in the sales process with names like Royalty Gold, Platinum, Silver, or Premier. Fees per month can range from about £10 through to £25, so can be costly when annualised.

About Us

Just to give you some background I have been dealing with bank complaints since 1999 personally following my time in a high street bank. My company operates with a handful of staff and a continuous stream of clients so that I can personally oversee all of the claims.

To look into any claim all I need is to know the name of the bank you had a bank account with and ideally the account number and sort code although this is not essential.

If for some reason we are not successful in obtaining a refund regarding your Account Package Charges on the facility then there is nothing to pay. It is purely a No Win No Fee basis so you have nothing to lose, where our fee if successful is 25% including the VAT.
