Vermont S 269 Passed and Signed into Law -- Paving the way for state incorporation of digital corporations

Effective on July 1, 2018, Vermont creates a new corporate entity type -- the BBLLC (Blockchain-Based Limited Liability Company) -- that expressly envisions a company that is wholly or partly implemented as a set of smart contracts on a blockchain.

Beth Miller Receives New Chair at Baylor

Congratulations to Beth Miller! On June 6, 2018, Baylor Law announced the creation of the M. Stephen and Alyce A. Beard Chair in Business and Transactional Law. Proceeds from the endowment will support a faculty position in perpetuity, allowing Baylor Law to enhance practical training and scholarship in this critical discipline. In turn, Baylor Law has named leading national scholar and expert in business organizations law, Elizabeth (Beth) Miller, the chair’s inaugural holder. Professor Miller is the foremost authority on Texas business organizations law as well as a nationally recognized expert on the law of limited liability companies and limited liability partnerships.
