There has been much change at EverThrive Illinois this year, as we move into our third decade working to improve the health of women, children, and families over the lifespan.

Yesterday’s midterm election delivered many positive firsts. More women ran in this election than any other in history, and will now hold over 20 percent of the seats in Congress. Hundreds of first-time candidates ran on platforms that political office is not – and should not – be for the few. There were hundreds of LGBT candidates running for offices across the country, and one-third of the candidates in House races were women of color.

We live in an increasingly connected world and diseases do not recognize borders; it is important to engage with partners all over the world. During September 2018, Public Health Manager, Kelly McKenna traveled to Beijing China to present a poster at the World Influenza Conference. Kelly’s poster presentation focused on a resource created through EverThrive IL’s partnership with the National Adult and Influenza Immunization Summit.
